Sport

Sport is central to life at St George’s School, with many students taking GCSE PE. It can be anything from taking part in recreational sporting activities in the evening and at weekends, to representing the School playing rugby or lacrosse.  Those who represent the School at the highest level are fortunate to compete nationally as well as against more local sides and train both before and after the school day, thanks to the team of highly dedicated PE staff.

Even more students proudly represent their Houses in a wide range of sporting events across the school year. We also support our elite athletes, some of whom have gained international honours in sports such as girls’ football, athletics and skiing, as they pursue excellence and, at the same time, keep a focus on their academic studies. We feel sure that there will be many who will follow in the footsteps of current sporting stars and Old Georgians such as Owen Farrell, George Ford, Maro Itoje, Laura Merrifield and Anna Patten.
