Marking Holocaust Memorial Day: Stories, Reflection and Remembrance
St. George’s marked Holocaust Memorial Day with a powerful display of fiction and non‑fiction books — a reminder that stories remain one of the most meaningful ways to learn, understand and remember.
This year’s theme, “Bridging Generations,” highlights that remembrance does not end with survivors. Their experiences live on through their children, their grandchildren, and through all of us who choose to listen and learn.
During last week’s Tutor Base sessions, Lower School read Once by Morris Gleitzman, Middle School explored The Second World War by Dominic Sandbrook, and Upper School focused on challenging antisemitism.
Chapel also centred on remembrance, honouring the lives lost and reflecting on the lasting impact of the Holocaust.
