Girls’ Lord it over opposition at MCC competition

Last Tuesday, we took an Under 15 girls’ team to the prestigious MCC indoor tournament at Lord’s.

We arrived on a sunny morning, and made our way to the indoor centre. Some of the best cricket schools from London and Hertfordshire were present.

After a very tight first group game versus City, the girls then went on to win their second and third group games comfortably, topping the group.

They then won their semi-final versus Wimbledon before they were pitted against City in a rematch of their first group game. This was a slightly less close affair and we ended up winning the tournament. A superb achievement as most of the team were Year 9s playing ‘a year up’.

The team were presented with medals in the main stand at Lord’s, capping off a memorable day for all involved.
