Red Tractor Beef and Lamb Mmmmake it with Mince Challenge

 

We were fortunate to have 2 pupils qualify for the regional finals of the National Make it with Mince Competition. The finals were postponed in December 2010 due to the severe weather conditions, but finally took place in January 2011. Our 2 pupils spent the day at the Leith Cookery School in London and were judged by the TV celebrity chef James Martin. The recipes included Bobotie Parcels and Golden Rice and Beef balls with chickpee and mash One St. George’s pupil was runner up missing out on winning by one point. Both pupils were a credit to the school. James Martin commented in an interview with The Herts Advertiser that the recipes showed great imagination and flair
